Marilyn June Kwapich

Marilyn June Kwapich age 90 of Toledo passed away Saturday May 6, 2023, in the Franciscan Care Center. Marilyn or June as her friends called her, was born in West Unity, Ohio on April 14, 1933, to Charles Robert and Genevera Irene (Gross) Newcomb. She was a graduate of West Unity High School. June was the former "Miss West Unity" and with her title she received a free train ride from New York City to Toledo. June then went on to graduate from the 1954 class of St. Vincent's School of Nursing with her RN degree. June was on the cover "cover girl" of the St. Vincent School of Nursing recruiting brochure. She worked many years at St. Vincent's and then went to private practice with Dr. Henry Hopple from where she retired. June was a very lovely lady and was quite the social butterfly, she always found new people to talk with and enjoyed the times with them. June and Richard enjoyed cruising around the world. She belonged to different Bridge groups and the Barbershop-Center Spotlight Chorus. June also loved swimming, playing golf and tennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Charles and Genevera; brothers, Larry, Marion and Robert Newcomb; and her sister, Carol. June is survived by her son, Mark (Mary) Kwapich; daughter, Karen Pacyznski; grandsons, James Reynolds Jr, and Anthony and Richard Kwapich; brothers, Donald, Richard, Paul (Kay) and Kenny Newcomb; and sisters, Waneta Rubel, Karen Manges and Sharon (Steve) Marvin.

The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Thursday May 11, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by the burial in Calvary Cemetery.
