Bonita J. Dayton

Bonita "Bonnie" J. (Inglis) Dayton, 85, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, at The Lakes of Sylvania, Sylvania, Ohio, surrounded by the family she adored. Born in North Troy to William F. and Helen I. (Deming) Inglis, Bonnie was a graduate of St. Augustine School and Catholic Central High School, Class of 1959. She worked at Sterling Winthrop and later Cohoes Manufacturing before settling in Cleveland, Tennessee. A lifelong gardener who especially loved baking desserts, Bonnie took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Susan E. Dayton (Deb Williams) of East Greenbush, N.Y., Stephen J. Dayton of Wynantskill, N.Y., Shawn M. Dayton (Tracie Nelson) of Holland, Ohio, and Gregory W. Dayton of West Richland, Wash.; grandchildren Benjamin N. Dayton (Kirsten Bergman), Andrew J. Dayton, Caroline E. Dayton, and Kameron E. Dayton; step-granddaughter Kyra Andress; great-grandson Henry Andrew Dayton; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 62 years, John "Jay" Dayton; her brothers William F. "Billy" Inglis and Robert L. "Bob" Inglis; and sisters-in-law Delores and Linda Inglis. Bonnie's sharp mind, quick wit, and steady love will be missed every day. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Jean's Cemetery, 958 Spring Ave Ext, Troy, NY 12180. Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio is assisting the family.
