Beverly Domalski

February 17, 1931 — April 6, 2021

Beverly Domalski was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on April 6, 2021. She was born on February 17, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio. A native Toledoan she was always interested in the visual arts. Beverly graduated from Notre Dame Academy, received a B. A. from Mary Manse College in 1952, and after six summers she obtained a Masters of Arts from Case Western Reserve in studio-art, art history and philosophy. She also studied at Ohio University and Arrowmont Craft School in Tennessee.

Beverly began her teaching career at Jones Junior High in Toledo, Ohio, advancing to Art Supervisor and Director of Art for the school system from 1975 – 1982. After retiring from the Toledo Public Schools, she volunteered and taught art in parochial schools for the Diocese of Toledo. Additionally, Beverly presented art workshops and taught art education classed at the Toledo Museum of Art, University of Toledo, and at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. Art classes were also presented at Spectrum at Toledo Botanical Gardens and the Toledo Artists’ Club. Later at the Ursuline Center, she volunteered weekly art sessions for over 20 years and contributed her art projects for Christmas bazaars. Her specialties were batik, handmade paper, silk painting and watercolor.

Beverly served on the Diocesan Liturgical Commission for Art and Architecture and the Christ the King Church Liturgy Committee. She was a member of Kappa Gamma Pi (a National Honor Society), the Mary Manse Alumnae board and an Ursuline Associate. Beverly has traveled to Europe, Mexico and Central America many times and has integrated lessons and work with historical and geographic references.

Beverly has always given her best in whatever she commits to. Her selfless energy and encouragement to anyone or anything she has ever become involved in has always been above and beyond that which was required. Beverly was a blessing to many throughout her life, especially those in the art world and the area’s public and parochial schools and her generous nature was a true testament to the person she was.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Florian and Felice Domalski. Left to cherish her memory are her cousins Kim (Allen) Porter, Kathryn (Ernie) Solsvik and many other dear cousins, friends and family.
