Thomas Lynn Lipper

Thomas Lynn Lipper passed away on Saturday June 20 at Northwest Ohio Hospice Toledo. Born in Toledo OH on January 20, 1948, to Edward and Stella (Mikolajczyk). Tom grew up in the Polish Village, having graduated from St. Hedwig grade school and Woodward High School class of 1966. Drafted into the Army in 1967, he served in Vietnam with the 1st Aviation Brigade.

After returning, in 1969 he worked at Champion Spark Plug for 5 years. He graduated as a journeyman sheet metal worker, and spent most of the next 31 years employed by Nordmann Roofing Co.

Upon retirement Tom enjoyed rose gardening, making kielbasa for the holidays, passing this skill along to his sons. He also enjoyed walking and birding at the Metroparks, doing remodeling projects, woodworking and volunteering at his parish. Tom also loved playing the guitar and enjoyed 60’s and 70’s rock.

He was a devoted husband to Lois (Korczynski) for 54 years. Together they raised two sons, Jon (Leslie) and Mark and made their home in Maumee. Tom is also survived by brother Larry, grandchildren Caitlin Kiggins (Rich), Max and Henry; sisters in law, Pat and Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert and Harvey, sister-in-law Pat, nephew Jeff Lipper and niece Diane Lipper.

Tom was known for his great sense of humor and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone. Everyone he met became a friend.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday July 1, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church 104 W. Broadway St Maumee, Ohio where the funeral mass will begin at 10:30. Interment will be private.

The Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio has assisted the family with arrangements.

 Memorial contributions in memory of Tom can be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Memory Care Services 2500 N. Reynolds Road Toledo, Ohio or St. Joseph's Catholic Church Maumee building fund.
