Barbara Ann Metzger

Barbara Ann Metzger, 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday December 18, 2022, at Orchard Villa in Oregon, Ohio. Barb was born in Toledo on July 26, 1936, to Stanley and Mary (Michalski) Jagodzinski. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1954. Barb spent most of her years caring for her family and her mother. Later in life she worked at Whitmer High School in the cafeteria. She was a member of the local KCettes and the Salesians. She enjoyed pinochle and played in a card club with friends for over 60 years. She was interested in history, especially US history, and had an unparalleled collection of political buttons. Barb’s other passions were the casino, especially the slot machines, and rooting for the Detroit Tigers.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband John. She is survived by her children Michael (Darlene) Metzger, John (Cindy) Metzger, Sally (Christopher) Meier, Anthony Metzger and Mary (Charles) Schmidt, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday December 21, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church where the funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
