Timothy J. Ruffin

Timothy James Ruffin, 54, of Toledo passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 17, 1970, in Sandusky, Ohio to Frison and Linda (Randleman) Ruffin. As a child he loved spending summers with his grandparents in New London and Ashland.

Tim loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed fishing, martial arts, music and drawing. He liked collecting comic books and sharing the passion of drawing characters with his son Sam. He liked playing cards and when he got sick, Tim and his partner Michael were on a 4-week winning streak against his wife Heather and mom Linda.

Tim enjoyed reminiscing about the old times, especially with his sister Rochelle, who always gave him the crack ups. He liked talking about movies with his sister Angela and every moment when his brother Matthew would visit.

Tim’s greatest accomplishment in life WAS HAVING A FAMILY, and that included his wife Heather and sons Samuel, Alexander and Theodore. He was the first in his family to own a home and was very grateful that he could leave something behind for his children. Tim taught his kids the true meaning of life. Compassion, Love, Strength, Honesty and Respect. His legacy will live on through his sons.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father Frison, brother Steven Ruffin, grandparents Theodore and Patricia Randleman and Gloria Towner, and Major and Queen Ruffin and his in-laws Larry and Marilyn Houghtlen and aunt Sr. Rosellyn Theisen. He is survived by his wife Heather and sons Samuel, Alexander and Theodore, mother, Linda, siblings Rochelle, Angela and Matthew Ruffin, his sister in-laws Renee (Jack) Culbertson, Beth (Mike) Kreager and Mary (Daniel)Molique and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Tim will be held later. The family has asked that any contributions are to be made to the funeral home to offset costs.
