Maryann Emily Brown

Maryann Emily Brown age 79 of Toledo, passed away Monday October 27, 2025, at Ebeid Hospice. Maryann was born in Toledo on April 11, 1946, to Theodore and June (Thompson) Tank. She graduated from McCauley High School in Toledo and then attended the University of Toledo where she met her husband, David. The first few years of their marriage they spent in England where David was stationed with the United States Air Force.

Maryann was a very loving, intelligent, stubborn, maybe sometimes outspoken person. She loved nature, animals, flowers, birds and enjoyed accomplishing a good puzzle and maybe nibbling on some caramels. She had been employed with the University of Toledo as the records manager in the college of education for 26 years, retiring in 2013.

Maryann enjoyed her family, but most of all she loved spending time with her kids and especially her grandkids during the holidays, where she would make her famous potato salad and of course her (GGS) good green salad. She did everything and was always there for all of them, and she will be missed, more than words can express.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 siblings.

Maryann is survived by her husband David, children Marne McDonald, Tiffany (Keith) Brewster and Derek (Lindsay) Brown, brother Patrick (Peggy) Tank, and grandchildren Shaye, twins Delaney and Cameron, and Grayson and Paige.

Her family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Monday November 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Tuesday November 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
