Karen Marie Harju

Karen Marie Harju age 63 of Toledo passed away Wednesday December 24, 2025, at the Toledo Hospital. Karen was born in Ann Arbor, MI on June 3, 1962, to William and L. Marie (Ryan) Cox. She was the Support Coordinator for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care unit at Toledo Hospital.

Karen was very loving and caring. She had an infectious laugh that many enjoyed. Karen enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She made many items for the NICU that the little babies could use and, also a flannel sensory heart, that a mother placed her scent on and they would place it next to the baby. Karen had a huge collection of pigs and loved her Corgi’s. Her greatest love was her family and friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Ricky Harju, her brother, Ron Cox, and her nephew, Aaron Cox. She leaves behind her son, Paul Harju, her life partner, Jeffrey Williams, her daughter Brooklynn Cotton, and son Kayden Cotton. She is also survived by her siblings, Daniel Cox, John (Deb) Cox, and Michelle (Dana) LaBar, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Karen will be held on Saturday January 10, 2026, at Flanders Road Church of Christ. The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m.
