**In Loving Memory of Evangelist Levon "Vonda" Lois Rankins**

It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude that we celebrate the life of Evangelist Levon Lois Rankins, who transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on November 9, 1965, in Toledo to Willie B. Rankins and Lois (Hardiman) Rankins, Levon was a beloved daughter, devoted mother, caring sister, and a dedicated servant of God.

Levon’s journey through life was marked by grace and determination. A proud graduate of Toledo Scott High School (Bulldogs) , she embraced her passions and talents, excelling as a member of the women’s varsity basketball team. Von also enjoyed bowling, cooking, dancing, the Michigan Wolverines, the Dallas Cowboys and being with her family and saving souls. Her quest for knowledge led her to Stautzenberger College, where she achieved a degree in Business and Legal Option in 1989, all while maintaining an impressive 3.8 GPA. Vonda is employed with the Toledo Public Schools.

Von was saved under apostolic pastor Mary Cole and Pastor Robert Cole at Apostolic Temple of Truth/ Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her heart, filled with love for her family, also belonged to God. In a beautiful testament to her faith, Levon answered the call to ministry and was ordained on October 6, 2020. Guided by the wise mentorship of Pastor Ellis, she flourished in her spiritual calling, serving faithfully in various capacities at Pilgrim Church, including Youth Minister, Assistant Pastor, and a treasured member of the Missionary Team. Her ministry extended to United Community, where she served under Pastor Daniel Cunningham, and she was honored to bring comfort as a Chaplain for Mercy Health System and to fulfill a noble mission in prison ministry. In 2017, Levon further embraced her calling, becoming an Evangelist at Kingdom Church. Vonda also had her special ministry the Battle Cry Ministry.

Though she has been called home, her spirit, love, and teachings remain with us. Levon was preceded in death by her beloved parents Willie and Lois Rankins, and her brothers Curtis Hardiman and Willie Rankins Jr. Vonda is survived by her cherished daughter, Me`Oncia Hughes, her siblings, Joanne Rankins, Kim (Chris) Costilla, Jeana Rankins, Jimmie Rankins, Joey Rankins, Chester (Ebony) Rankins, Karen Hardiman-Rankins, and Pamela (Thomas) Hutchen, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, Also surviving are special friend Bobby Hughes the father of her daughter, best friend Gwen Hess from Colorado, Linda Lowery and special cousins Nancy and James Thompson, Emma Hardiman, Aaron Rankins and Gregory Lofton, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, special friend Margaret Echols, from Toledo, along with numerous loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
