Bradley Allen Mays

June 25, 1987 — June 4, 2025

Bradley Allen Mays age 37 of Maumee passed away Wednesday June 4, 2025. Brad was born in Toledo on June 25, 1987, to Timothy Mays and Kelly (Alliman) Mays.

Brad was exceptionally intelligent and endlessly curious with the ability to memorize information with photographic precision. His insatiable thirst for knowledge had him reading college textbooks for pure pleasure on subjects ranging from Psychology to Psychopharmacology to Religious Theories. Brad had an opinion about everything and wasn't afraid to share it. He loved to debate just about anything with anybody. His favorite topics of debate were usually psychology and politics. He was especially proud of schooling medical professionals on exactly how medications interacted in the body, and he was usually correct. Brad's sharp wit and unique humor could simultaneously frustrate and amuse you. He had a vast vocabulary and often made unique sayings like "I'm an enigma wrapped in a conundrum" or "I love dogs and tolerate people."

While Brad faced his share of struggles and would have been the first to admit his faults, those who truly knew him understood the depth of his empathy and the kindness of his heart. He simply preferred to keep that side of himself hidden, worried it might be mistaken for weakness.

Brad loved the outdoors and riding his electric bike all over town and going to parks to take photographs of wildlife. He enjoyed fishing, both on the lake to catch perch or at the river for bass. His hobbies included watching movies and documentaries as well as stock and options trading. As a kid, Brad's greatest passion was hockey. As an adult, he loved nothing more than spending time with his brother (best friend and confidant), Justin, his nephew Remington, and niece Quinn, all of whom he would do anything for.

Brad's life was a testament to the complexity and beauty of the human spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandfather William Mays. He is survived by his mother Kelly Mays, father Tim (Heather) Mays, grandmother Leilonie Mays, and grandparents Gary and Bonnie Alliman. Brother Justin Mays, stepbrothers Bryson and Ashern Berndt, niece Quinn Mays and nephew Remington Mays.
