Anna Mae McIlhargey-Kontur

Anna Mae McIlhargey-Kontur age 71 of West Toledo peacefully passed away on April 20, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Anna was born November 5, 1954, in Toledo to John and Jessie (Mellon) McIlhargey. A 1973 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, she continued her schooling at the University of Toledo where she received her bachelor and masters degrees in education. Anna began her teaching career at St. Catherine School and then taught for Toledo Public Schools and later worked as a substitute teacher. Anna loved teaching, spending time with family, and her life was shaped by her faith.

Surviving are her husband David Kontur, children, Nathanael Kontur, Brendon Kontur and Emily (Andrew) Latta, sisters, Mary Ann (David) Pemberton, Coleen Bury, Rita (Mike) Ivan and Carmen (Dennis) Moore. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren Landon and Noah Kontur. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Kathy Donahue, John "Jack" McIlhargey, Pat McIlhargy and James McIlhargy.

Anna's Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, located at 5055 Secor Rd., Toledo, Ohio. Memories will be shared at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
