Allen J DeVries

Allen J. DeVries age 70 of Toledo Passed away Thursday August 21, 2025, at Otterbein of Monclova. Allen was born on December 6, 1954, in Monroe, MI to Henry and Vera (Spotts) DeVries. He graduated from Mason Consolidated schools and was a former Dairy Manager for Foodtown Stores.

Allen enjoyed playing and watching basketball. He was a fan of the Detroit Pistons, but his favorite all-time player was Pistol Pete Maravich. He also followed the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines. Allen was a collector of all types of movies; he loved his popcorn and Twizzlers. He loved to listening to music, keeping up with the history of the Titanic and enjoyed Star Wars. His greatest pleasure was his children and grandchildren.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Michael. He is survived by his children Matthew (Kristina) DeVries and Rachelle (Craig) Willen, siblings Ronald (Beth) DeVries and Judy (Steve) Sulier, grandchildren Alivia, Camden and Lando and good friend and caregiver Cynthia DeVries.

Allen’s family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Thursday August 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services at Urbanski’s will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery Erie, MI.
