Leokadia Helena Czernikiewicz

Leokadia Helena Czernikiewicz, 74, unexpectedly moved on to celebrate spring in heaven on February 16, 2024, where flowers and sunshine always exist for her to enjoy. She was born in Mokre, Poland on September 17, 1949 to Edward and Aniela Galas. She grew up in Poland and grew to teach early childhood as director of the preschool. In an effort to provide a better life for her family, she moved to the United States of America in the year 1983.

She lived a full life working hard to give her children a chance at success. Even working multiple jobs or long hours, she would always find time to help the church, her friends and anyone who needed it. She was known for her great cooking, baking and having the best looking garden in the neighborhood! She enjoyed watching the flowers bloom every year! In addition to tending to the flowers, she taught herself how to bake, and decorate, wonderful cakes and pastries that she usually ended up doing for free to help others. She will always be remembered as a generous person giving out desserts and goody baskets around the holidays! She will be missed dearly, but she is laying in the garden beds of the heavenly gates with the warmth of the sun shining down on her!

She was survived by her daughter Ewa Augustynowicz, her son John Szczucinski, her brother Krzysztof Galas and her four grandchildren Adam Augustynowicz, Victoria Pastula, Lincoln Szczucinski and Layla Szczucinski.

The family will be receiving friends in St. Adalbert Catholic Church Toledo, Ohio on Saturday February 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. where the funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Urbanski Funeral Home 2907 Lagrange St Toledo, Ohio

Memorial Services
The family will be receiving friends in St. Adalbert Catholic Church Toledo, Ohio on Saturday February 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. where the funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
