Suzanne M. Courtney age 71 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully November 20, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Sue was born June 24, 1952, in Toledo to Frank and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Schuster. She attended Woodward high school. She worked for over 20 years in various positions for K-Mart Corporation and over 11 years with Nabisco before retiring in 2017. She met her husband Tim Courtney when they worked together at K-Mart and they married July 3, 1982, in St. Clement Catholic Church, Toledo, Ohio.

Sue was extraordinary in many ways and was loved by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and a memory to match, remembering everyone’s birthdays. She had unconditional love for her husband and adored her family. She was a devoted wife and an inspiring role model for her daughters. Sue “GMA” enjoyed many tea parties, tent forts, trips to the zoo and swimming with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed family vacations. She was stubborn and courageous. Through her battle with cancer, her strong faith in Jesus never faltered.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her baby sister Joanne, and Tim her husband of 40 years who passed in April 2023. She is survived by her loving daughters Sonya (Dave) Mottram and Stacey Ketter (partner Eric Lewis); grandchildren, Courtney Ketter, Dillon Ketter and Sara Mottram; sisters Linda (Steve) Kwapich and Joyce Greiner; brother Robert (Tammy) Schuster; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Memorial Services
Suzanne’s Life Celebration will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio. The funeral services will be Saturday December 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Gary Wright officiating. The family prefers contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
